LOCAL ELECTIONS ARE IMPORTANT
If you want your vote to make a difference, one of the most important things you can do is vote in local elections.
The presidential election gets a lot of attention, but local elections have a huge impact on our communities. City council members, state representatives, judges, and sheriffs - to name a few - make incredibly impactful decisions that affect issues like housing, taxes, development, and the environment for years to come. The effects of these decisions are felt in our very neighborhoods, yet local elections often have very low turnout.
In our community of Los Angeles, Nithya Raman is running for city council. Nithya is a progressive candidate who will seek innovative solutions to combat homelessness, advocate for carbon neutrality, and practice radical transparency in her role in office.
